Guardian Alert

Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 28, 2026

Guardian Alert is a personal safety check-in app that helps users schedule check-ins and notify trusted contacts if a check-in is missed.

Information We Collect

Guardian Alert may collect and store information needed to provide its core features, including:

How We Use Information

Contact Consent

Guardian Alert is designed to notify only trusted contacts selected by the user. Contacts must consent before they are activated for alerts.

If SMS text alerts are enabled, SMS consent is handled separately from email consent. Trusted contacts must agree to receive Guardian Alert SMS messages before SMS alerts are sent to them. SMS alerts are not activated for a trusted contact unless the contact affirmatively opts in through a supported consent process, such as a Guardian Alert consent page or an opt-in keyword if text-based opt-in is supported. Contacts can opt out of SMS alerts by replying STOP and can request help by replying HELP. Message and data rates may apply.

If a contact opts out of SMS alerts, SMS alerts will not resume for that contact unless the contact affirmatively opts in again through a supported consent process. SMS opt-out does not necessarily unsubscribe the contact from email alerts, and email consent does not automatically opt the contact into SMS alerts.

Sharing of Information

We do not sell personal information.

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share mobile phone numbers, SMS consent records, or SMS opt-in information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information collected for SMS alerts is used only to operate Guardian Alert, send requested transactional safety notifications, manage consent, provide support, and comply with applicable law.

Information may be shared only as needed to operate the service, such as with providers used for:

Data Retention

We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

If you delete your account while you have an active App Store or Google Play subscription, we may retain a limited billing recovery record for the subscription period plus a short recovery window (currently up to 90 days). This limited record may include hashed account identifiers and store subscription identifiers needed to honor active subscriptions, support restore requests, prevent abuse, comply with legal obligations, or resolve disputes. It is not used to keep your deleted Guardian Alert account active.

Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Your Choices

Users may update or remove certain account, schedule, or contact information through the app or by contacting support. Users may delete their account in the app from Settings → Delete account, or by following the instructions on our Account Deletion page.

Children’s Privacy

Guardian Alert is not directed to children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted at the current policy URL with a revised effective date.
